PROBLEMS
This project addresses the lack of a sound-based platform for rediscovering community and fostering
belonging in Hong Kong’s fast-paced, high-stress environment. By using location-based storytelling, it
helps users connect with their surroundings through shared personal and cultural narratives.

TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience is young adults (18-40), working professionals, students, and creatives in Hong
Kong who are interested in urban exploration, storytelling, and local culture.
DESIGN CONCEPT & CRITERIA
The design concept empowers users to be storytellers, using sound to share personal and community
narratives. By fostering communication, it enables meaningful expression and engagement. This
strengthens community connections, allowing people to discover and contribute to the shared stories of
their surroundings. And these are the design criteria:

FEEDBACK
- Story
- Users wanted playback speed control (1.5x or 2x) for long stories.
- Series were preferred over random individual stories for a more immersive experience.
- Stories increased users' curiosity about locations, leading them to research further.
- UI/UX
- Story card details were unclear, especially the distance display.
- A wishlist feature was needed to save locked stories for later.
- The unlocking range was too restrictive; users suggested expanding it.
- Functionality
- Search and wishlist placement confusing, making navigation difficult.
- The recording feature needed improvements, such as script insertion and better editing tools.
- The Discovery Map needed more incentives, such as achievement badges.
FINAL OUTPUT
BOOTH DESIGN
For the booth design, we used laser cutting, CNC machining, and 3D-rendered sketches to create
the final booth.
